Domain setup

Use your own domain for a store.

Every store gets a free subdomain. Plans with the custom domains feature can connect their own domain as well.

Steps

Open your store, then Domains, and add a hostname such as shop.example.com.
At your DNS provider, create two records:

TXT    _dropmerchant.shop.example.com   dm-verify-…   (the token shown in the app)
CNAME  shop.example.com                 stores.dropmerchant.com

Click Verify. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to spread. If verification fails, the app tells you which record is missing.

Pending / Verifying. Waiting for DNS.
Failed. One of the records wasn't found. The reason is shown.
SSL pending. DNS is verified and the hosting edge is issuing a certificate. On self-hosted installs this depends on your proxy (see the Developer guide).
Connected. Serving traffic over HTTPS.

Use a subdomain (shop., learn.) rather than the bare apex domain. Most DNS providers don't allow a CNAME on the apex.
